Bike Rack That Can Be Used While Flat Towing Jeep Grand Cherokee

We have a Class A motorhome bus-type with a rear diesel engine. We flat-tow a Jeep Grand Cherokee. Is there a bike rack that is tall enough and fits on the hitch between the motorhome and Jeep that we can use to haul two road bikes on?

Hello Staci, thanks for reaching out. it is possible to add a bike rack to your Jeep flat tow setup. The best way to do this is with a platform style bike rack, and a dual hitch adapter.
For a dual hitch adapter, take a look at the Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter # RM-077-10. This has 10" between the two receivers, so you can use the lowermost receiver for your tow bar, then use the uppermost receiver for your bike rack.
A platform style rack will be better for this, because the bikes will sit on top of the rack instead of hanging down, so there would be no issues with clearance. This kind of rack is also a lot more stable and dependable than a hanging style rack. What I recommend for you is the Hollywood Rack Trail Rider # HR200Z which will work great with any road bike with a standard frame.
