The Ultra-Fab Phoenix Electric Trailer Jack with Remote- 5,500 lbs # UF38-944055 or 4,000 lb # UF38-944040 without remote sounds like it may have a mechanical issue. I recommend using the manual crank to extend or lower the jack. If you can use this, then you isolate the issue to electrical with a possible bad ground or motor issue. If you can't physically move the jack with the manual crank then we know the issue is mechanical with the inner rod seized or having stripped threads.
If it is mechanical you will need to replace the unit. If it is electrical make sure you have a good ground connection that is bare metal to metal. A weak ground may still allow for the light but not the additional amperage draw of the motor. You can test the motor directly using jump wires from a 12V battery.

I purchased a Phoenix 5500 electric tongue jack at camping world less than a year ago. I have loved this jack like it’s my own kid. I use it on my Keystone Springdale 29 foot travel trailer. Well when I got home and tried to get my trailer off my Denali the jack wasn’t working. I checked it out and tried everything I could to make it work. So I called Ultra-fab.com and talked to the technical support guy. He told me that it sounded like an internal issue in the motor. He said that it is broken and that I would need to get a new one. My heart just sank as I was thinking I was going to need to spend another $500 for a new jack. He then asked me for my information and said they would mail me a new motor part and also a return box with postage already paid for to send the old one back. I was completely shocked because that is not the typical answer you get from a company when you tell them that it’s broken. You usually hear sorry you’re S-O-O-L. (figure the letters out). I will say that this company had just made a customer for life. I am extremely picky about customer service and support. This company just got the #CutAbove award from me. I didn’t get put through the ringer with a bunch of questions to point the blame at me to make me pay for the new part. So in conclusion, thank you Ultra Fab for being a company that believes in true and honest services. This is a dying breed in our country but this company is the pinnacle of what all companies should strive to follow. Thank you and may God Bless your company and the people who run it. I wish I had grabbed the name of the technical support gentleman but I completely forgot because I was in complete awww.
