The Curt Echo Mobile Trailer Brake Controller - Wireless # C51180 will work with your Apple phone connected to your stereo and charging, but it is not compatible with Apple Car Play so it won't show up on your stereo screen. Apple Car Play will only allow some aspects of your phone to function as integrated with your stereo and unfortunately the mobile app for this brake controller is not compatible with the stereo interface. Some vehicle stereos will allow you to still access the app while connected to Apple Car Play, but if your vehicle does not you can still use that USB port for charging your phone and using the Curt mobile app when Car Play is disabled to give you the emergency override feature. If you don't need that feature then you don't need the mobile app pulled up and Car Play could be used.
