Yes, the 2-5/16 inch hitch ball that comes included with the Curt Pintle Hook # C45908 can be swapped out with a different sized ball that features a compatible shank. For a 2 inch hitch ball to use with this assembly the Curt # C48820 will work perfectly. We also have the 1-7/8 inch # C48810 if you think you would ever have a need for a smaller hitch ball.
