Can Dexter E-Z Flex Heavy Duty Suspension System # K71-652-00 be Used on 6,200 Pound Axle
Updated 03/25/2019 | Published 03/22/2019 >
Question:
This kit specifies for axles up to 6000 lbs. My axle tags say 6200 lbs and also 378 MM. Does that push the trailer into a different kit number? Has 33 inch spacing. Sorry for the poor photo images. GVWR is 12,400 lbs.

I spoke with my contact at Dexter and the 6,000 pound axle rating on the E-Z Flex Heavy Duty Rubber Suspension System # K71-652-00 has more to do with fit than the actual capacity on the equalizers. Heavier duty axles will typically have different dimensions and axle spacing which may require different size equalizers.
The equalizers on a trailer's suspension setup don't really support a lot of weight so there isn't a concern with using these on 6,200 pound axles.
As long as the axle spacing on your trailer is 33 inches like you mentioned and your existing equalizers feature matching dimensions then this system will work perfectly. These equalizers measure 5-1/4 inches to 6-1/4 inches from bolt hole to bolt hole.
