Will a Tonneau Cover Fit over a Reese M5 Series 5th Wheel Hitch
Updated 12/16/2011 | Published 12/15/2011 >
Question:
On a 2012 Ford Super Duty F350 DRW, what 18K 5th wheel hitch and included hitch handle is 20inch or less, so that a Retrax or Pace Edwards retractable truck bed cover can be used while the hitch is intact in the truck bed? Is the Reese M5 20K too tall with the included handle? Other hitches that will fit??

I spoke to my contact at Reese and he informed me that the head of the Reese M5 Series 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch # RP30921 that you referenced will be 14 inches high in its lowest setting and 18 inches in the highest setting.
The handle will add an additional 4-5 inches to the setup, but an option that some people do is install the handle upside down that way it will not be too tall for your tonneau cover.
For a rail kit you will want a Reese Fifth Wheel Installation Kit # RP30126. I attached installation instructions for this product for you to check out also.
