What type of winch would you recommend and where should I get it from to replace the 5351 Shelby?

The Shelby winch part # 5351 that you mentioned is no longer available but it was a 1,000 lb winch with a 2 way ratchet. Dutton Lainson actually bought Shelby so the most similar winch would probably be the Dutton Lainson part # DL14934 which is a 1,200 lb winch that has an automatic brake and can winch in and out with the brake automatically applying.
