Will the Hands Free Liftgate Feature Still Work on a 2019 Acura RDX with Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch

Question:

I have a 2019 RDX Advance pack front wheel drive. Will the trailer hitch part 76268 stop the use of my kick to open rear hatch.

The Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 76268 which is a fit for your 2019 Acura RDX with Advance Package will not impede the use of your hands free liftgate sensors. However, you will need to position your foot to either the right hand or left hand side of the receiver tube opening in order for them to read.

Just wanted to double check I saw an expert say that hitch 76268 will not interfere with the tailgate sensor on the 2019 acura rdx? Also is there a sensor relocation kit in the works if it does interfere?

Unfortunately it's a little "hit or miss" with regards to the liftgate sensors on your Acura RDX. In most cases the Draw-Tite # 76268 should only interfere to the point of having to move your foot to either side of the hitch receiver, but we have had a couple customers come back and say it completely blocked theirs. The factory location of the sensors can vary just a tad and it only takes an inch or two off to make the difference. You can check with a local Acura dealer about a potential sensor relocation kit but at this time it's not something we have available.
