Hi, everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look at this Curt T-connector vehicle wiring harness with four pole flat trailer connector. Now, this wiring harness has been designed to fit your 2019 to 2022 Acura RDX with the plus 12 volt power provision. Now, this harness is going to give you that four pole flat trailer connector at the back of your vehicle to power your trailer signal lights.

This is also going to be compatible with five, six, and seven pole adapters, those adapters are sold separately. And as you can see here, this does include a dust cap for the four pole flat connector. That dust cap is gonna cover up those connection points when the plug is not in use. Now, a taillight converter is built into this T-connector because most trailers run on a two wire system where the brake and turn signals are carried on one wire. The separate brake and turn signals from your vehicle's three wire system, they need to be combined so they are compatible with the wiring system of your trailer.

So, this converter combines the brake and turn signal functions of your automobile so that they run on one wire to properly activate your trailer signal lights. This will not affect how your tail lights on your vehicle operate. And by the way, Curt does build each taillight converter using surface mount technology for consistent reliable performance. Then, you will need to mount this converter box to a safe out of the way location. You can do that a number of ways. You could take another self-tapping screw that you might have on hand and run it through the top hole. You could maybe even use one of the many cable ties that's included with the kit. This does include this double-sided adhesive tape.

You could use this, but I would also recommend using a second way to secure this, so maybe like I mentioned, another cable tie or another screw, something like that just to make sure that it's going to stay in place. Now, you're going to be able to secure any excess in your wiring or slack in your wiring with the cable ties. I did wanna point out that our ground wire is here with a terminal there, a ring terminal. It does come with a self-tapping screw to get that grounded and on a clean rust-free surface. Instructions are included to guide you through the installation process. It is also recommended that you use a small amount of dielectric grease on all of your electrical connections, like the plugs on your vehicle and the four pole connector itself. The that grease is designed to help prevent electrical failures caused by corrosion and moisture.
