Installing the Prodigy P3 Brake Controller on a 2018 Toyota Tundra

Question:
Hello, I have a 2018 SR5 5.7L Tundra with integrated brake controller. I want to swap it out for the Tekonsha P3. If I unplug it will it throw any errors? I realize there is no plug and play adapter for the P3. I was hoping to unplug the factory one, and hopefully it will have the four wires I need to run the P3? If not, can someone please send me the .jpg file to wire it? I found one on your site, but when you click and try to zoom in it gets to blurry to see which wire they are pointing to. Thanks in advance.

You definitely made a great purchase with the P3 # 90195! Since you already have the OEM brake controller in your 2018 Toyota Tundra I would be surprised if you don't have to take it in to a dealer to have them turn something off.
I can definitely attach that tech bulletin so that you can read it easier but you actually may not need to do all of the hardwiring. Apparently about midway through the 2018 model year Toyota started putting the plugs in the Tundra pickups.
If you check the other picture I attached it shows where the brake controller plug might be. You can remove the panel below the three button panel by starting at the top left corner near the steering wheel and pulling outward, releasing the tabs that are holding the panel in place one at a time. Then repeat this for the three button panel. If this is where your OEM controller is connected then you may not have to search for the plug.
Regardless, if you find the plug there then you should be able to use the Adapter # 3031-P to install the P3. If you don't find the plug then you can simply follow the steps listed in the tech bulletin.

I'm having issues with my Integrated brake controller on my 2018 tundra sr5. I've read into it and many say that their is no wiring harness adapter for my year. In one of ur answers to a customer with a similar problem u said. quote (Apparently about midway through the 2018 model year Toyota started putting the plugs in the Tundra pickups). U recommended the tekonsa adapter 3031-p to install the tekonsa p3 controller. I was just checking again with u if this adapter does indeed fit. Because like I said there's a lot of info that says there's nothing out there. Ive pulled my dash apart and taken the brake controller out and it does have a connected to the wiring harness. But I want to be sure that the working harness works with the tekonsa adapter. Sorry for the length I've just looked everywhere and can't find a fix for my integrated brake problem. The original reply u gave to a customer was (Installing the Prodigy P3 Brake Controller on a 2018 Toyota Tundra Updated 01/21/2019 | Published 01/19/2019) Thank you Jared Lewis
