I have a 2018 Toyota RAV4 with hands free opening of rear hatch. Will a trailer hitch work with that or interrupt that function?

For your 2018 Toyota RAV4 I recommend the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - 2" # C13149. This hitch is a custom fit for your vehicle, is easy to install, and will allow you the hands free liftgate function. The sensors will work well on either side of the center receiver tube. I've attached a video of this installation to assist.
If you want a more hidden option for a cleaner look, you can alternatively use the EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver - 2" # 306-X7219. This is a more difficult installation but will give you a cleaner look. I've attached photos to compare.
