Question:

I am having an enclosed car hauler trailer built to pull behind my RV. I will be using e-track to secure my 4k small SUV. Should I have the e-track install recessed or can the car be driven/positioned on top of the e-track?

While you can absolutely drive on the Erickson Horizontal E-Track # E19148 the track is far more likely to last long term if you have it recess-mounted or you have it installed so that the track is just to the side of your SUV's tires. Then for straps you can use the Erickson E-Track Strap with Ratchet # EM59139 which is 16' long x 2" wide and has a working load limit of 1,165 lbs so you will need at least four of these for a SUV that weighs 4,000 lbs.
