I need to install a brake controller on my 2019 Chevy Suburban. I don't want something I'll smack my knee on but I like the idea of a proportional controller that can sense how hard I'm pressing the brakes.

I have a really great brake controller solution for your 2019 Chevy Suburban. I recommend the Redarc Tow Pro Elite # RED44FR because this is a proportional brake controller like you want that senses the amount of braking you are applying and because of how small of a space it takes up on your dash or center console. If you check out the picture I attached you'll the very small knob that this controller needs you to mount. It can go basically anywhere you can reach it as well.
The custom harness that fits the controller to the install port under your dash is the Redarc Plug-and-Play Wiring Harness # 331-TPH-010. All you need is these two parts and your good. I attached a review video for the controller for you to check too for more details/info.
