Question:
Hi quick question. Looking at the Draw-Tite Class III hitch for my 2018 Mazda CX-9 but wondering if bolts need to be torqued down with a torque wrench for installation?

Yes, when installing the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # 76020 on your 2018 Mazda CX-9 you will need to use a torque wrench to tighten down the hardware to the specifications listed in the installation instructions. This is the case with any vehicle trailer hitch and it is necessary so that the hitch stays secured to the vehicle when towing.
I took a look at the installation instructions for the Draw-Tite hitch and found that in addition to a torque wrench (which you may be able to borrow at a local auto shop) you will need a ratchet, a 7/8 inch socket, exhaust removal pliers, a flat head screwdriver, and a 6 inch socket extension.
I have attached the complete installation instructions that you can take a look along with an installation video on the 2018 CX-9 that you can use for reference.
