Installing Replacement LED Light Bar # MCL97RPG on EZ Loader Boat Trailer
Updated 10/31/2018 | Published 10/30/2018 >
Question:
I have a 2007 ez loader skeeter bass boat trailer and I assume the light bar on tail, which looks like this one is incandescent. How would I know? And is the connection on this industry standard? They all have the single plug? I have not tried to remove mine yet. Seems easier to replace bar then the three lights.

The easiest way to verify if the existing light bar on your 2007 EZ Loader Trailer uses incandescent bulbs is to simply remove the lens and take a look at the light. If it uses actual bulbs then it is in fact incandescent. If it instead has little diodes then it is an LED assembly. Another good indication that what you have is an incandescent model is simply based on the fact that the lights burnt out. LEDs typically last an extremely long time and you likely won't ever need to replace the LEDs themselves.
The Optronics Truck and Trailer Light Bar # MCL97RPG that you were looking at features three 3-LED lights on a stainless steel base that is corrosion resistant. Not every trailer light assembly uses the same type of wiring connection but most do use a single power wire design like this one. The single power wire features a "plug-n-go" molded male connector that allows for a quick and watertight connection. The plug can also be cut off so it can be hardwired if that is how your current unit is set up. The light bar will simply ground through its mounting hardware.
I have attached a short video demonstration that you can also check out.
