To install the 55" Lock Side-Door Bar Lock Assembly # 3057-55 you will need to use 5/16 inch fasteners. You will choose the hardware based on the material the assembly will be mounted to. If you used security Torx hardware then you would not necessarily have to bolt the assembly all the way through the surface and secure it with nuts on the other side but I would still recommend it.

You would need a spacer of some type to allow the mounting brackets of the 55" Lock Side-Door Bar Lock Assembly #3057-55 to sit flush with the door so that it could close and latch. Otherwise the latch wouldn't get around the door.

The handle keeper for 55" Lock Side-Door Bar Lock Assembly #3057-55 has mounting holes spaced 4 inches apart on center. The keeper itself can be positioned after the hinges and bar are installed.
