How Do Carriage Bolts that Hold Trailer Latch Hasps Tighten to Trailer Door

Question:

Replacement Hasp for Polar Cam-Action Latch Kits - 1inch Wide - Zinc-Plated Steel - 158-101. Hi I am trying to replace the door latch on a 16 ft interstate inclosed trailer. How can I remove the existing bolt, the head is circular and has a round hole in the middle. Thank you for your help.

It's probably a carriage bolt which has a square shoulder that fits into a square hole in the latch system which prevents it from spinning. That's why there isn't a way to attach a wrench to the top of the bolt. You are going to have to look for the other end of the bolt that is going to have a nut which can be loosened.
