Thoroughly Tested for Safety

This hub-and-drum assembly meets the requirements for certification by the Canadian Standards Association (CSA). The CSA creates standards, which when complied with ensure a safe and quality product. This assembly underwent extensive testing to measure stopping distances when braking. This assembly has also been tested by QAI for braking performance in a complete automotive setup and under real-world conditions to provide the most realistic scenario for the everyday driver.

E-Z Lube and Easy Grease-Compatible Assembly for Simple Lubrication

The grease cap on this hub-and-drum assembly is specially designed to work with your Dexter E-Z Lube or etrailer Easy Grease axle to make lubricating bearings quick and easy. Just remove the plug on the grease cap, attach a grease gun to the zerk fitting on the end of the spindle, and inject the grease. It will flow easily to both inner and outer bearings. Not only does this make lubricating the bearings easy, but it also helps to prevent corrosion of the hub. This is because you can lubricate the bearings without the mess of taking apart the entire assembly.

Determining the Bolt Pattern

The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.

Bolt Pattern - Even

On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: 8 on 6-1/2 means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)

Bolt Pattern - Odd

To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: 5 on 4-1/2 means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)

Bolt Pattern - Side

Measuring the distance (D) from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

  • If D = 2-5/8", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-1/2"
  • If D = 2-3/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-3/4"
  • If D = 3", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5"
  • If D = 3-1/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5-1/2"

  • What Hubs and Brakes do I Need for My 2016 Keystone Alpine 5th Wheel with Tandem Axles?
Hello James, We definitely have the parts you need, but I do not have a database that supplies me with what is put on what trailer. Life would be a little sweeter if such a list existed. Based on my research the axle capacity on the 2016 Keystone Alpine can vary on what floor plan you have. The 7K axles are the most common, so that is what I am going with (you will want to check your axle tag to confirm that is what they are rated for). For brakes you will want (2) sets of our etrailer...

  • Availability of 8 on 6-1/2 Hub and Drum Assemblies for the Timbren Axle-Less Suspension ASR35HDS02
We do have some hub and drum assemblies that you can use with the Timbren Heavy-Duty Axle-Less Trailer Suspension # ASR35HDS02 which have an 8 on 6-1/2" bolt pattern. Our Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly # AKHD-865-7-2-EZ-K has a 12" diameter and comes with the needed bearings and grease cap for your application. It does come with a grease seal, but you will need to use part # GS-2125DL (Qty 1) or part # RG06-090 (Qty 2) for the correct seal for the smaller spindle. If you don't already...

  • Will 8 On 8 Inch Hub Work With Timbren Axle-Less Suspension System
Unfortunately, the Trailer Hub Item # AH60880FCOMP will not fit the spindles of the Timbren Axle-less Suspension System, Item # TASR7KS02. Like you pointed out, this is the only 8 on 8 inch hub option we have for you. We do have other hub options that would fit the Timbren Axle-less Suspension System, Item # TASR7KS02, like Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly, Item # AKHD-865-7-2-EZ-K, but they are 8 on 6-1/2. Please let me know if I can help you with any other questions.

  • Hubs and Brakes for 5,200 lb Timbren Axle-Less Trailer Suspension
Hey Anthony! I would be happy to put that together for you. The Timbren Axle-Less Trailer Suspension # TASR5200S03 is the 5,200 lb version with a 4" lift. For trailer brakes you can use the etrailer Electric Trailer Brakes # AKEBRK-7-SA along with # BRKH12 for installation. What kind of wheels do you have? Assuming you want a 6 on 5-1/2 bolt pattern you can use the Easy Grease Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly # AKHD-655-6-EZ-K. If you want an 8 on 6-1/2 bolt pattern you need the # AKHD-865-7-2-EZ-K...

  • Recommended Hubs And Brakes For A Lippert 7,000 lb Axle
Hello Chad. The Lippert 7,000 lb axles use standard sizing for all the bearings, hubs and brakes making them all pretty simple to replace. For a hub assembly I recommend the Easy Grease Trailer Hub and Drum for 5.2K to 7K Axles # AKHD-865-7-G-EZ-K. This is a galvanized steel hub with a 12" drum and an 8 on 6-1/2" bolt pattern, all of which are standard for the 7K axles. This hub comes with bearings, seals, races, lug nuts and a grease cap. For your brake assemblies I recommend the TruRyde...

  • Replacement Hubs And Brakes For A Sure Trac Trailer With Lippert 7,000 lb Axles
Generally the 7,000 lb Lippert axles are going to use standard sizing. With the brakes being the 12" x 2" with a 5 bolt backing plate, and the hubs being an 8 lug, and using the standard 1.25" Outer and 1.75" Inner bearing. While I do not know exactly what model axle you have, or when it was made, it should use this same sizing. Since trailers are not completely standardized, we do suggest that you measure to confirm fitment prior to ordering. Provided it is standard, you can use the following...

  • Max Torque Rating for 1/2" Studs on 7K Axle Hub and Drum Assembly
For hubs that have 1/2" studs, like the Easy Grease Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly for 5.2K - 7K Axles # AKHD-865-7-2-EZ-K you're looking at, you don't want to exceed 120 ft-lbs as that's the most torque this stud size can handle. Since you have 17-1/2" wheels I do recommend going all the way to 120 ft-lbs. If your wheels have a 9/16" stud (like most 17-1/2" wheels that fit with coned lug nuts do) I recommend going with the Hub and Drum Assembly # AKHD-865-7-1-EZ-K instead. This has the...

  • Locating Replacement Trailer Hubs and Drums for Mobile Home Axle
In order to see if there is an 8 or 6 lug replacement hub and drum assembly that will fit the axle on your trailer, you will want to first pull the existing hub. Once the hub is pulled, check for the bearing numbers that should be stamped onto the bearings themselves. If you cannot locate these numbers, you can also measure the spindle at various locations where the bearings sit. I have attached an image that shows where these measurements should be taken. The only difference between the Dexter 7K hubs and hub and drum assemblies that have either 1/2 inch studs or 9/16 inch studs are the studs themselves. Otherwise they are exactly the same. You can use calipers such as # PTW80157 to measure the diameter of the studs you have. Or you can check the hubs you have for any numbers stamped into them. If you see a 219-04 or 219-09 then it has 1/2 inch studs. If you see a 219-13 or 219-18 they are 1/2 inch. It is also possible that this information...
