Diameter of 4 on 4 Inch Idler Hub Center For Wheel Pilot Hole Compatibility

Question:

Looking for a 4 on 4 hub for a 1 inch spindle. I need the hub to fit a rim with a 2.5 inch hub. The dexter hubs I currently have use a 2.55 inch diameter hub where it goes through the centre of the rim. Help.

I went out to the warehouse to measure the diameter of the Trailer Idler Hub Assembly for 2,000-lb Axles - 4 on 4 # AKIHUB-440-2-1K for you. The hub measures 2.45 inches when using a digital caliper where the wheel's pilot hole fits, so it will work well with your current wheels.

Trailer wheels often have pilot holes that are bigger than this center section on the hub which is not an issue because the wheels are centered on the lugs and not the pilot hole.
