What is the purpose of the tensioning bolt plug? To install in place of an Acutight Tool after tensioning?

There is not a torque spec for the mounting clamps on the Thule Rapid Traverse Roof-Rack Foot Pack part # TH480R. The foot pack comes with an AcuTight tensioning tool which will be used to secure the feet onto the roof. The feet will need to be tight so they don't move but not much more than this.

I have attached a review video which shows the feet being tighten for you as well.

The Thule Rapid Traverse Roof-Rack Foot Pack part # TH480R comes with two Thule Traverse AcuTight Tools and two Tensioning Bolt Plugs part # 8526446001. The Tensioning Bolt Plugs are designed to keep dirt and grime out of the socket used to tighten the feet.
