Question:
I have a 2002 heavy Tahoe 4x4 pulling a 3500 gross weight trailer. We are looking at the Fastway e2 Weight Distribution w/ 2-Point Sway Control - Trunnion - 6,000 lbs GTW, 600 lbs TW. Husband wondered if it is ok to go up to the 8000 lb one so that we can get a bigger trailer in the future. What would the difference be? Would our tow vehicle drive rougher or ?? Thank you!

The Fastway e2 Weight Distribution System part # FA92-00-0600 that you referenced is likely the best weight distribution system for your needs. It has a tongue weight range of 250 lbs - 600 lbs which is likely where your towing setup falls. In order to be sure you may want to weigh the tongue weight of the loaded trailer and add that to any cargo stored behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle.
I do not recommend using the Fastway e2 Weight Distribution System part # FA92-00-0800 with your current trailer as the system would not be nearly as effective at managing sway and weight. However, if you plan to upgrade to a larger trailer then all you need to do is purchase new spring bars part # FA92-01-0899 as this will give your system a 400 lb - 800 lb tongue weight range.
