US Car Connector Wiring Harness Installation to Match 7-Way Function

Question:
I have the replacement plug 56229. Are the wire configurations the same on my 2004 Chevy Silverado 1500 the same as the wires on new plug? Meaning do the top 2 wires on the stock plug on my truck control the same lights as the top 2 wires on the replacement harness? And so on all the way around the plug for each wire? Just want to make sure connections are the same and will not be crossed. In other words. Even though the colors dont match are the functions still the same.

The Curt Universal Wiring Harness for Vehicle-End Trailer Connectors # C56229 is what is referred to as a US Car Connector. It will match pin location functions so your lights will match up. The colors on this harness may be slightly different as you mentioned, so you will want to match locations for functions to remain the same. I've attached a photo to assist with the function locations.
