Question:

I have a 2017 2500 ram with factory pucks for 5th wheel. My hitch is a Reese 18k signature series that mounts like the ram bed mounts are however the mounting is wrong size. I need a adaptor to mount ram bed mount to the Reese 18k. do they make such a unit and where can I buy one. Thanks.

The Reese Elite/Signature series 5th wheel hitches like the 18K model # RP30142 and the 26K model # RP30871 are made specifically for the Ford factory 5th wheel prep package. As you noted these hitches will not fit into the similar puck system in the Ram trucks.

There is no adapter offered to allow installation of one of these Ford-specific hitches in your 2017 Ram 2500 that has the Ram prep package and these Ford and Ram hitches use different components so it is not possible to retro-fit a new Ram-compatible base to the existing Ford version.

We do offer the similar 20K Reese hitch # RP30918 which is a direct fit for the Ram prep. This and all other 5th wheel hitches for the long bed Ram with the factory prep are shown on the linked page.
The 25K B&W Companion # BWRVK3600 is widely considered to be the very best of these and it is a drop-in fit in your truck.
