Updated 07/06/2018 | Published 07/04/2018

Question:

If I purchase and use the RM-15267, do I also need the RM-88400 kits as well? Thanks

Yes, the Roadmaster Brake-Lite Relay Kit for Towed Vehicles part # RM-88400 will be required for your 2013 Jeep Wrangler even if you are using the Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit part # RM-15267. The only time that the brake-light relay is not required is when you are using a set of magnetic tow lights like the Heavy Duty Magnetic Tow Lights part # TL21RK.

The brake-light relay is designed to prevent the towed vehicle's brake signal from overriding the turn signal from the motorhome when applying the brakes during a turn. The diodes in the harness are designed to prevent power from backfeeding on the tail light circuits so one will not cancel the other out and they will both be needed for your Wrangler.

I have attached an install video on both of these parts for you as well on a similar Jeep Wranglers.
