The Snap-Up brackets like # PS58362 and # 58392 are designed to have some space between the frame and the back side of the bracket. As long as the bolt is holding the frame and bracket tight, the system will work properly. This bracket is designed to be compatible with many frames so the gap is not at all uncommon.

The top of the bracket should rest on the trailer frame where able and the Snap-Up Side should rest along the frame as well. As long as those two areas are tight to the frame, the bracket will work as intended with the gap on the back side.

I have the Pro Series distribution hitch not sure which. I want to replace the snap up brackets that fit a 2 inch channel. What would accomplish this? I know that it doesnt matter if these brackets are larger than the channel but I would really like them to fit closer to the 2 inch channel on my travel trailer.
