Question:

Compatibility of products. Will these parts work together: part # BWPMHD14004 pintle hitch receiver/plate and part # 337PH8 pintle hitch properly? Also, is there a coupler lock that would work in place of the pin that holds the pintle hitch closed?

The Buyers Products 10 Ton Pintle Hook # 337PH10 referenced in your question is indeed compatible with the B&W Pintle Hook Mounting Plate # BWPMHD14004 that you also mentioned. I went out to our warehouse to measure the bolt hole spacing on the pintle hook to verify this. Both items feature a 16,000 pound towing capacity.

For mounting hardware, I actually recommend the Buyers Products Mounting Kit # 3378520, as it was specifically designed for this model Pintle Hook.

If you want to use a locking pin for the hook you can use the Trailer Coupler Lock # e98887, which features a 2-1/2 inch usable span and a flush locking design.
