Today we're going be taking a look at the Buyers Products 10 Ton Pintle Hook. Now this is going to work out well for those situations where you need to tow a trailer with a lunette ring on the front, so any agricultural, construction kind of application. Have this keeper pin up at the top to keep our pintle hook closed. We pull back on that, we can open it up, and then get attached to our trailer.This is made of a strong drop forged construction, so it'll be very durable, has a nice thick corrosion resistant black powder coating. So we don't have to worry about this rusting out on us any time soon.Works pretty simply. You'll just need to drill into a strong, mounting point for this.
It does have a template to do that. So you'll mount this up on a appropriate mounting surface, drill out the holes to the specified recommendations from the instructions, and there's also a weight rating sticker that comes with this so you can attach it next to your hitch and always know how much you can tow.The max gross trailer weight for this is 20,000 pounds, and the maximum tongue weight is 4,000 pounds. Now you always wanna make sure that you check the owners manual of the vehicle that you're gonna be towing with, never exceed its manufacturers specifications.Whenever we're ready to go, we can secure that pin, bring the clip down to make sure that our hook doesn't pop open on us.As far as dimensions, it's about 6 1/4 inches away from the mounting surface, so it sticks out about 6 1/4 inches there. The usable space inside that pintle hook is about 2 inches. The mounting surface is about 4 1/2 inches by 3 inches.
The widest point of the pintle hook is gonna be where that bolt and nut go through, besides the base itself, and that's about 3 1/2 inches wide.That's gonna do it for our look at the Buyers Products 10 Ton Pintle Hook.

Good quality. The pintle hook comes with a template to drill the mounting holes.
Very nice quality hitch. I wish it came with a bolt kit (grade 8) it would be a cheap upgrade and would be much more convenient for the customer even if the hitch cost a few bucks more.
Just paper in box,empty must have fallen out in shipping. Box was damaged and retaped

They were boxed up in a large box and all the boxes came damaged.
The actual hooks are not damaged luckily..
