Should Yakima FullBack 2 Be Used In Anchor Mode On 2024 Nissan Rogue?

Question:
Hi, I bought a Yakima Fullback 2 for my 2024 Nissan Rogue. Their directions state I need to use “anchor” mode straps mounted inside vehicle when connecting top and bottom straps to my car. While watching your video on how to mount it on a 2023 Nissan Rogue, I noticed it was mounted the usual way on the Rogue. Just wondering if you found it’s OK to do that and won’t cause any damage. It seems to be more of a pain to use anchor mode. Thanks, David

Hello David, thanks for reaching out. If Yakima says to use the straps in anchor mode, that is what you will need to do. I was not able to find the video you mentioned, but it sounds like the video was showing the rack more for demonstration purposes. Them recommending anchor mode means mounting them the usual way could cause damage. I have to recommend sticking with whatever Yakima says since it is not something we have tested long-term.

Hey David, did you end up using the anchor mode for your Yakima Fullback 2 on your Nissan Rogue? I'm curious to know how it worked out for you, as it could really help others in a similar situation.
