It is going to be the size of your 4' x 6' trailer's side rails and tailgate that matter when determining if the Gorilla-Lift Utility Trailer Tailgate Lift Assist # GL1 will work for you.

This tailgate lift assist will work if you have an open utility trailer that has square-tube, round-tube, or angle-iron side walls, if your side rails are 12" to 24" from the trailer bed, and if your trailer's tailgate height is 4' to 6' from your trailer bed. Should your trailer meet all of those criteria then you will be able to use the Gorilla-Lift Utility Trailer Tailgate Lift Assist with Cable # GL1.

With the Gorilla Lift Ramp Spring Assist #GL1 there are two sets of springs and you can disconnect the inner spring if you want to lower the spring tension and the outer spring will do the job just fine.
