The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C11025 is a confirmed fit for your 2012 Kia Optima. Installation of an aftermarket trailer hitch or any other part will not void the warranty as consumers are protected by the Magnuson-Moss warranty act that states, in part, that unless the part added actually causes a problem, then installation and use of the part will not void the warranty.
I've attached a video of the installation as well as the instructions to assist. If you will be using this hitch with a bike rack or other accessory, Curt does require the use of a stability strap # 18050 for their warranty.
