Trailer Wiring Harness for a 2013 Chevy Express Van

Question:

I have a 2013 Chevy express cargo van. I need a 4-flat connector for my trailer. I have two questions: 1. It looks like there are two types, one was a power converter, and one without. How do I know which one to get? The one without looks a lot more simple, and I’m hoping that’s the one. 2. On this wiring harness, there is one wire with two connectors that run to the passenger side, and two connectors for the driver side. However, on the inside at the rear of my van, there are three connectors on the driver side and only one on the passenger side. Will this harness still work? I’ve attached three photos, one of the passenger side connectors, one of the driver side connectors, and one of a connector that’s above the door. Thanks for the help!

A powered converter is not required for a 2013 Chevy Express Van. Since you are looking to add a 4-Way I recommend going with harness # 118392. This harness plugs in line with the vehicle tail lights. I have linked a video showing an example installation for you.

The connector is going to work. The connectors with the green wire in the trailer wiring harness go to the passenger's side and is only picking up the right turn signal/brake light circuit. The other side has a yellow wire for left turn/brake light, a brown wire for running/tail lights for the whole trailer, and the white wire is the ground.

Each side has 2 connectors that will just plug in line with the vehicle tail light wiring connectors. The trailer wiring harness only takes what it needs and the other functions of the tail lights are unaffected which is why there is just the one wire (green) for the passenger's side.
