Question:

I have a 2017 Nissan Pathfinder that I would like to put a hitch on. Main use right now would be for a bike rack but eventually could be to haul trailer or small camper. Do you also recommend local installers?

For your 2017 Nissan Pathfinder, I recommend the Draw-Tite Max Frame Round Tube Receiver Hitch # 76031. This Class IV hitch is confirmed to fit your vehicle and will use existing holes in its frame for a no-drill installation. It will provide you with a 2 inch receiver and features a 900 pound tongue weight capacity and a 6,000 pound towing weight limit.

We do not have any specific recommendations for local installers, however this is a relatively simple installation that any good mechanic will be able to perform without issue. I have attached an installation video on your Pathfinder, along with the complete written instructions. Draw-Tite estimates an installation time of just around 25 minutes. You can use this information to obtain an accurate quote from a local shop.

If you don't yet have a bike rack, I recommend taking a look at the Swagman XTC-2 2-Bike Platform Rack # S64670. This is a really nice, platform-style rack that can secure 2 bikes of up to 35 pounds each. It features padded hooks that will attach to the bike frames and adjustable wheel hoops that will accomodate bikes of varying lengths. You can add the Anti-Rattle Hitch Lock and Cable Set # S64031 to secure everything into place and help deter theft.
