Question:
Hello. I am ordering a Dexter EZ Lube axle as a replacement on an old trailer. I am planning on using the old hub however, which is not an EZ Lube hub at least it doesn’t have an EZ Lube cap. Can I make my old hub an EZ Lube hub by simply ordering an EZ Lube grease cap of the proper size? Or is there more to it than that? Thank you.

Helpful Expert Reply:
Replacing the standard grease caps on your existing hubs with E-Z Lube caps will allow you to easily access the grease fittings on the E-Z Lube spindles for your new axle. The Replacement EZ Lube Drive-In Grease Cap # 21-41-1 that you referenced is the correct part for your 3,500 pound hubs. You will also need to add the Grease Cap Plug # RG04-010 to protect the hub and bearings.
This is everything you will need, as the cap and plug is the only real difference between an E-Z Lube and standard trailer hub.
