Question:
I have stuck Companion 5 wheel Hitch, the one that slides back and forth due to not torquing the center bolt to 80 ftlb. Any suggestions on how I can get it removed without cutting it out as some people have suggest?

I spoke to my contact at B&W and we believe that the problem on your B&W Companion Slider # BWRVK3400 has to do with that center shank is wedged in your hitch.
If you can disengage the pin that secures the slider to your gooseneck hitch and then slam the hitch itself back and forth that should loosen it up enough that you can remove it. The other option would be to use a long crowbar to try to loosen it up from underneath your truck, but the first method should do the trick.

I had the same problem trying to get my newly installed hitch out. Slamming it back and forth 3 or four times loosened it up so I could get it out. I found there was no grease on it. I'll grease it up before I put it back in. Thanks for the advice.

My fifth week companion hitch was stuck in the hitch. Sprayed WD40 all around the gap, let it sit then used a body porta power from Harbor Freight with the jaws against a piece of plywood on bed and lifted at the front of the hitch lined up with the attachment and it popped right out. Only took 3 pumps on the porta power. Mine had only been installed for 1 week and it was stuck stuck. My gooseneck assembly is about 2 years old on the truck so it was probably to rust and debris inside that stuck it.
