Question:

I need a motor for my tongue jack. I have a 2500lb atwood jack that the motor has given up. I can crank the gear box real easily but the motor had water in it and is not working anymore. Im trying to get a replacement motor to put on the gear box.Im including a picture of the motor. All Ive been able to find is landing gear replacement motor and gear box for more than I can replace the whole thing. This unit is welded to my trailer and it would be a lot easier to just change the motor. Thanks for your help!

The 12-Volt Motor Kit for Ram Landing Gear # LG-142178 should work as a replacement for your Atwood jack. These motors are fairly interchangeable. The issue you are finding is that Atwood was bought by Lippert and their products have been discontinued, so you can't find exact replacement parts.

My recommendation is to replace your jack with the Lippert Electric Trailer Jack with Footplate - A-Frame - 18" Lift - 3,500 lbs - Black # LC285318 instead of repairing the older one. This will give you a functional jack that is well made and comes with the manufacturer warranty as well as parts if needed at a later date.
