Question:

Thanks for the quick reply, I would like to ask one more question if I may and that is this: Is there a front hitch that would allow the receiver box to go thru the air dam to gain a bit more ground clearance, rather than under it ?

The Draw-Tite Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - 2" # 65063 is not a fit for your 2008 Dodge 3500. It will only fit 2010-2018 models.

For your 2008, I recommend the Draw-Tite Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - 2" # 65046 which is a fit and will give you a 500 lb vertical load rating and 9,000 lbs line pull rating. I've attached an installation video to assist.

Absolutely. The Curt Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - 2" # C31017 will sit a little higher and will require trimming of that front air dam. I've attached a photo and the installation instructions to assist.
