Question:

Does the ignition need to be turned on when flat towing this car? I have installed a Roadmaster base plate and the car is wired 4 pole for brake, parking and turn signal lights. my concern is if I remove fuse #77 to disable the brake switch the car will not start until the fuse is re-installed. Obviously the auxiliary brake will press and turn on the brake lights and so will the motor home. I am trying to not have to install a brake light relay under the dash because it is very hard to get to the wire bundle. I know what wire to splice but want to avoid this if possible.

Based on our information, a brake light relay, Item # RM-88400, will be required if your 2016 Jeep Cherokee is wired with a diode light kit like Item # RM-154.
