Where is the Brake Controller Connector on a 2016 Thor Hurricane with a Ford F-53 Chassis

Updated 06/03/2020 | Published 04/10/2018

Question:

I was trying to locate the factory OEM brake control connector for 2016 Ford Hurricane Thor Motor coach with V10, class A rv. It’s the F-53 chassis and I have the P3 tekonsha 90195 brake controller and the tekonsha 3035-p Wire harness. Thank you for any assistance you have available.

The OEM connector on your 2016 Thor Hurricane should be up above the emergency brake pedal. If it is not there then you will need to look behind the steering column for a connector that the Plug-In Wiring Adapter # 3035-P connects to for your Prodigy P3 # 90195.

I spoke with my contact at Tekonsha who said that back in 2011 Ford was supposed to make the connector more accessible (by the emergency pedal) because it used to be behind the steering column.

You may also need to install the Hopkins Adapter # 37185 to complete your wiring.

On the Ford E-450 chassis the factory brake controller port should be located behind the coin tray in the dash or up under the driver's side dash near the emergency brake pedal. Note that if it's behind the coin tray the tray will need to be removed to expose the plug.
