7-Way Trailer Connector Recommendation for 2017 GMC Sierra 2500

I am using wiring harness already under spare tire that just needs female plug but the color coded wires are different from what the plug is calling for. this is on a 2017 Silverado 2500HD.

Wiring colors for trailer wiring can vary quite a bit. But if you have a round connector designed for a 7-way socket what you'd want is the # 74682 which is a 7-way socket that will plug right in and work well. This comes with a bracket to mount the 7-way and an additional 4-way as well.

In order to determine the torque rating for the lug nuts on your trailer you will need to know check out the chart I attached that shows all of the torque specs for all the trailer lugs available based on stud size, wheel material and wheel size.
