Recommended Trailer Hitch and Wiring for 2013 Honda CR-V

Question:
I am planning a move to NM. Studio to 1BR apt capacity. Furniture weight unknown. I am thinking about using a UHaul trailer to make the move. What type hitch and trailer capacity do you recommend?

I took a look at the owner's manual for your 2013 Honda CR-V and it states that the maximum weight of a trailer and its cargo can be 1,500 lbs so please keep that in mind.
There is a hitch that will do the job for your vehicle and you'll also need a 4-flat connector, ball mount and hitch ball. For a hitch I recommend the Draw-Tite # 75742 which is a 2" hitch that is a complete bolt-on installation so there will be no need for any type of drilling into your CR-V's frame. To add a 4-flat connector to power your trailer's lights you need the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118561 which uses a plug-in T-connector and will not require you to splice into any wires. I've added links to video reviews as well as installs of both products for you to take a look at.
I also recommend checking out Ball Mount Kit # 989900, which may fulfill your towing needs in one tidy package; two ball mounts - one with a 3/4” rise or 2” drop and the other with a 2-3/4” rise or 4” drop - a 1-7/8” hitch ball, a 2” hitch ball, and a pin and clip. You can use the link to the help article on ball mounts I've added to determine if this kit will give you the correct amount of drop or rise.
