On the Curt TruTrack Weight Distribution System # C17500, yes you can change the ball. Just make sure you buy a 2" ball with the same shank as the ball that comes with it. The stock ball is a 2 5/16" diameter hitch ball with a 1 1/4" x 2 5/8" shank.
2" Hitch Ball - 1-1/4" Diameter x 2-5/8" Long Shank # A-90 is an example of what you need to switch the ball size.
