4 pt vs 2pt sway factor 23 ft air stream /f 150

Weight distribution systems that have 2-point sway control generally have sway control just at the ends of the springs bars on the trailer side. On the Fastway systems for example the L bracket that secures the bar to the frame bracket can be tightened or loosened to adjust the amount of sway control tension on the bars.
A system with 4-point sway control such as Curt # C17500 or Equal-I-zer hitch # EQ37100ET has the 2-point as mention above and then also sway control where the spring bars mount in the head. In both cases the sway control is resisting movement side to side (sway) and in most cases can only be overcome by the force applied to the system from the vehicle making a turn (which is why you are still able to turn with the trailer).
To choose a weight distribution system you will need to go by the total tongue weight of the set up. This is calculated by taking the tongue weight of the trailer, when loaded and ready to tow, and adding to that the weight of anything loaded behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle. I have included a link to our help articles on weight distribution, determining tongue weight, and a link to the systems we carry that come with sway control.
