Video Transcript for Let’s Check Out the 2" Hitch Ball for Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution Systems

Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at this two-inch hitch ball for the Equalizer Weight Distribution Systems. This has an 8,000 pound weight capacity. Now this trailer hitch ball's designed for use on the Equalizer Weight Distribution Systems. Basically this ball will attach to your weight distribution head. It is a sturdy steel construction.

And then you can see it has a nice durable, rust-resistant, double chrome plating to it. Also, if you notice the lock washer and the nut for installing it is all included. Put your washer on, then go ahead and put your nut on and tighten that down for it to the correct specs. Again, this is a two-inch diameter. Weight capacity which will be stamped on the top of the ball is 8,000 pounds.

And a few measurements on this. We're gonna measure the shank dimensions. So if we do the overall length of the shank is right at two and a quarter inches long. And the diameter of it is right at one and a quarter inches. But that should do it for the review on this two-inch hitch ball for your Equalizer Weight Distribution Systems with the 8,000 pound weight capacity..

  • Choosing Between A Fastway Weight Distribution System With Round Bars Or Trunnion Bars
One of the major differences between a round bar system and a Trunnion bar system is if ground clearance is an issue, you may be better off choosing a Trunnion-bar system simply because these bars slide into the weight distribution head instead of inserting into it from the bottom, thus maintaining a more streamline system. The round-style spring bars slide up into the head and are held in place with clips. The round bar on # FA94-00-0600 extends about 2-1/2 inches below the weight distribution...

  • Recommended Weight Distribution Hitch System For a 6,000LB Sailboat Trailer With a Straight Tongue
No photo required, this is a common issue with boat trailers. For your sailboat trailer you will need to use a Pole-Tongue Adapter # EQ95-01-5950 that is designed to fit a straight tongue that is between 1" and 5" wide, with a vertical height between 2" and 5". This will allow you to use a Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System for your sailboat. It is important to match the tongue weight of your sailboat trailer to the tongue weight of the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System. With...

  • Comparison of Fastway and Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution Systems for 3,000 Pound Trailer
Both the Fastway # FA94-00-0600 and the Equal-i-zer # EQ37060ET are rated for 600 pounds tongue weight which once your trailer is loaded and you factor in any weight in the back of your 2016 Chrysler Town and Country that is right where you want to be. A couple of differences to consider, the Fastway does not include a hitch ball, but of course you can purcahse either a 2 inch, # EQ91-00-6080, or 2-5/16 inch, # EQ91-00-6100. Also, and the biggest difference, is that the Equal-i-zer uses...

  • Recommended Weight Distribution System for 2021 Ford Explorer Towing 2024 GeoPro 19FDS
Hello Pete; thank you for providing that information. The most important thing when choosing a weight distribution hitch is tongue weight. We know the dry hitch weight of your trailer is 485 lbs and the GVWR is 4,485. Since tongue weight is typically 10-15% of the trailer weight you're looking at a max of roughly 673 lbs. Based on this information I recommend the Fastway e2 Weight Distribution # FA92-00-0800 you were looking at. I really like the Fastway hitch since it is a high quality...

  • Recommendation to Reduce Rear Sag on 2018 Jeep JL Wrangler When Towing Trailer
The Timbren Active Off-Road Bumpstops # TABSJRJK referenced in your question are confirmed to fit your 2018 Jeep JL Wrangler Unlimited. These are designed to replace the factory bump stops on your Jeep and will provide a stronger unit that will do a better job of supporting the rear suspension and absorbing energy and cushioning road shock. These should definitely help a bit with the rear sag on your Jeep when hooking up to a trailer, but it's not your best option. When rear sag on a vehicle...

  • Recommended Fastway Weight Distribution For 2017 Jayco Jay Flight 195RB Trailer
For your 2006 Buick Rainier and your 2017 Jayco Jay Flight 195RB, the Fastway e2 Weight Distribution w/ 2-Point Sway Control - Round - 6,000 lbs GTW, 600 lbs TW # FA94-00-0600 may be sufficient, however, I recommend bumping up to the # FA94-00-0800. This system will give you the same minimum tongue weight, but will allow for up to an 800 lb tongue weight. Based on the specs for your trailer, if you were loaded to capacity you could have a trailer tongue weight of up to 525 lbs, and that...

  • Recommendation for Fighting Trailer Sway
If you are wanting to use a Friction Sway Control Kit, like part # 83660, then all you will need is the Reese Sway-Control Bracket # RP26003 for your 2 inch ball mount. As convenient as the price of a sway control kit is, I highly recommend going with a Weight Distribution (WD) system instead. Not only will it ensure that your towing setup is level, but it will also have an integrated sway control that allows you to back up, unlike the kit. When you choose a WD system you will want to...

  • Recommended Weight Distribution System for a 4,500 lbs Trailer
For your 4,500 lbs trailer, I recommend the Fastway e2 Weight Distribution w/ 2-Point Sway Control item # FA94-00-0600. This system has built in sway control that will keep your trailer in line with your truck when you're going down the highway and get passed by a semi or make a sudden move. It does not include a hitch ball so you'll want to get the 2" Hitch Ball for Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution Systems Item # EQ91-00-6080.

  • Weight Distribution And Sway Control System For A 17' Trailer That Weighs 4,200 Pounds Dry
Good question John! I have two options for you to choose from. One is more of an "entry level" system and the other is a more premium system. Either will absolutely work with your trailer and your 2025 Honda Passport (I double checked in your owners manual and it said you can use weight distribution). "Entry Level" Option: Reese Pro Round Bar Weight Distribution w/ Sway Control - 6,000 lbs GTW, 600 lbs TW # RE34FR -This comes with everything you need and will get the job done. But, with...

  • Choosing a Fastway e2 Weight Distribution System for 550 TW
If you fully load your trailer and find it has a tongue weight of 550 lbs and towing weight of 6,200 lbs, then ideally you should choose a weight distribution system's where your tongue weight sits middle-road of the system's capacity. As for a Fastway e2 option, the Fastway e2 Weight Distribution 8,000 lbs GTW, 800 lbs TW - Round Bar # FA94-00-0800 is a good option. • Recommended Weight Distribution System For 2011 Toyota RAV4 Towing 2500-Lb Trailer
The best way to find a weight distribution system that is best for you is to first determine the tongue weight of your fully-loaded trailer when it is ready to tow. Then add the weight of any cargo you place behind the rear axle of your towing vehicle. That gives you the total tongue weight to consider. You want that weight to fall near the middle of the range of the weight distribution system you choose. If your total TW is over 400 lbs. I recommend the Equali-i-zer weight distribution,...

  • Parts Needed to Tow a 3,900 Pound Trailer with a 2016 Buick Enclave with Factory Tow Package
In addition to a trailer hitch, such as # 75528, for your 2016 Buick Enclave you will also need a trailer wiring harness, ball mount, and ball. These are the basic components needed for towing. It looks like the Enclave already has a trailer wiring harness so that plus the hitch means we need to look at ball mounts and balls. I recommend an adjustable ball mount such as # C45900 because it is height adjustable from 6 inches drop to 5-1/4 inch rise and it has both a 2 inch and 2-5/16 inch...

  • Recommended Trailer Brake Controller and Weight Distribution Hitch For a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee
Since your 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland has the factory tow package I recommend using the Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller # RED24FR which you can connect using the Plug-and-Play Wiring Harness # RED77FR. This is a very simple to use proportional brake controller and it only has a small dash mounted control knob so you will not have a large controller on your dash. The e2 # FA94-00-1061 you found is rated for trailers up to 10,000lbs with a tongue weight of 600-1,000lbs which your trailer will not come close to reaching. This system is also rated for a trailer up to 10,000lbs but has a much wider spread tongue weight capacity of 600-1,000lbs. The Curt # C69JR you found requires 800-1,000lbs of tongue weight which is going to be higher than you are going to have on your trailer. • Solution for Rear Sag While Towing on 2022 Ford Bronco Badlands With Sasquatch Package
The Coil SumoSprings Custom Helper Springs # CSS-1094F are a fit for the front but not the rear. Unfortunately, there are no suspension enhancement options for the rear of your 2022 Bronco since you have the Sasquatch package. • Can Weight Distribution Hitch Be Used During 90 Degree Turns and Backing Up
Backing up may or may not be allowed depending on the weight distribution hitch you decide to get. However, no WDH is going to allow you to make full 90 degree turns. The spring bars may come out, or the system may end up damaged, so you would need to disconnect the spring bars if you make a turn that sharp. This isn't an issue with most driving conditions, and in a lot of cases you can be careful and make a wider turn to avoid it. It sounds like you might have some specific conditions...
