Vacuum Breaker Orientation for the Phoenix Faucets 4

The pictures and the video show the vacuum breaker shower hose attachment on the bottom, pointing down. The mounting instructions also indicate to mount the faucet with the vacuum breaker pointing down. Will this work with the vacuum breaker pointing up?
