The trickle you get out of the head is in fact to avoid too much pressure to the hose and fittings going to the shower head from the main hot and cold knobs. When the water is turned off at the knobs the water will not trickle from the head and shouldn't unless one or both of the knobs is not completely closing off the water flow. I'll start out by saying that a standard bathtub is only usually 14"-17" deep, and RV bathtubs will be around 11" deep. The Stromberg Carlson Extend-A-Shower Shower Curtain Rod for RVs - 35" to 42" - White # EXT-3542 cannot be installed horizontally because it would not then hold up the curtain at the ends. It would dip down on the ends slightly causing a larger dip in the center which isn't what you want.
