Actually I prefer Blue Ox flat towing components over Roadmaster, but honestly they are both great ways to go and would work fine.

I have found Blue Ox tow bars easier to connect to Blue Ox base plate kits than the Roadmaster equivalents.

So for your 2017 Honda Fit with a manual transmission I would recommend the Blue Ox base plate kit # BX2261 and the Blue Ox tow bar part # BX7380.

For lighting you can use the diode kit, # RM-15267, and not have to worry about cutting into the taillight housing. This will splice into your taillight wiring to allow your tow vehicle to control the taillight assemblies of the towed vehicle. This comes with a round 6-way connector that you will install on the front of your towed vehicle and enough coiled wire to go from there to the RV.

And finally, most states now require supplemental braking in the vehicle being flat towed. The easiest system to set up and use is the Blue Ox Patriot # BLU37TR, that applies the vehicle brakes in proportion to how much the tow vehicle is braking. This is the safest way to stop and it reduces wear and tear on both vehicles.

Most likely you will also need a high low adapter so that the tow bar will be level when you are flat towing. I attached a link to a page that has all of the ones we carry.

The Patriot # BLU37TR is a great supplemental braking system, but it's a different animal than the Invisibrake part # RM-8700 which is a permanent install type of kit. The Patriot is a kit that has to be installed and removed every time you use it but has a much simpler install. The Invisibrake is a much more involved install but you only have to do it once. The compromise that I recommend though is the SMI DUO part # SM99251. This is a one-time install like the Invisibrake but it's a much easier install. This is actually our installers favorite kit as it installs the easiest and works the best. We are near St. Louis, MO. I'd think that's a bit of drive for you to have us install it! But I am sure there's an RV dealer near you that can install any of the kits mentioned. I attached an install video for the DUO on a similar Fit as well.
