Best Flat Tow Setup For 2024 Chevy Equinox

Hello Linda, you came to the right place. I will start with a list of parts, followed by a few notes for flat towing your vehicle. Here is what I recommend for your 2024 Chevy Equinox:
- etrailer Invisible Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms # e98965
- etrailer SD Non-Binding Tow Bar - RV Mount - 2" Hitch - 6,000 lbs # e34ZR
- Roadmaster Smart Diode Kit for Variable Voltage LED Tail Lights - 7-Way to 6-Way Adapter Cord # RM38FR
- Roadmaster Battery Disconnect for Towed Vehicle w/ Flat Tow Brake System - Gas Only # RM-766
- Demco Stay-IN-Play Duo Flat Tow Brake System for RVs w/ Hydraulic Brakes - Proportional # SM99251
That will cover all the main components. Disconnecting the battery is a requirement, and the Roadmaster disconnect is the best, safest way to do that.
If your vehicle has incandescent bulbs instead of LED, you will want to use the # RM26FR diode kit instead of the # RM38FR.
Also, you may need a drop hitch like part # BLU28XR to compensate for any height difference between the base plate arms and the hitch on your RV. Any difference of more than 3" will require a drop hitch. Keeping in mind the tow bar has 2" of rise or drop built into the shank.
You may also want a cover # e76FV and a lock # e98881 to protect your tow bar.
As with any flat tow setup, please check your owners manual and make sure you thoroughly read and understand all instructions pertaining to recreationally towing you vehicle.
