Yes, I suggest the Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit, # RM-523193-5. This fits all trim levels WITHOUT lower active grill shutters. For a Blue Ox Base Plate Kit, you can use # BX1730.
For a complete flat tow arrangement for a 2022 Chevrolet Equinox, you will need a base plate kit, safety cables and a wiring solution to synchronize your RV’s lights to the Equinox. You will also need a supplemental braking system to synchronize your RV and towed vehicle's brakes.
Once the selected base plate is installed and the tow bar attached to your RV it needs to be +/- 3" of being level or you will most likely have excessive wear on you tires and steering components. I've provided a link to our selection of high/low adapters along with a help article on must have flat towing components. Below is my recommended set-up for your 2022 Chevrolet Equinox:
- Base Plates, Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit, # RM-523193-5. This fits all trim levels WITHOUT lower active grill shutters.
- Tow Bar, Roadmaster Nighthawk All Terrain, Non-Binding Tow Bar, # RM-676. This has a large hookup radius and hassle-free latches make it easy to connect and release. It also includes the needed safety cables and some wiring so that is not an additional purchase.
- Wiring, If you have LED tail lights, use Roadmaster Universal Wiring Kit with Smart Diodes for Variable Voltage LED Tail Lights, # RO44FR. OR
- Wiring Kit - If you have incandescent Tail Lights: Roadmaster Universal Wiring Kit with Smart Diodes for Variable Voltage Incandescent Tail Lights, # RO94FR. With either option you will also need the RoadMaster 6-Wire Trailer Connector - Vehicle End
Item # RM-910030-7.
- Supplemental Braking System, I suggest the Roadmaster InvisiBrake Supplemental Braking System, # RM-8700 along with the Roadmaster Universal Stop Light Switch Kit, # RM-751000.
I also suggest you install the Roadmaster Battery Charge Line Kit for Towed Vehicles # RM-156-25. If your motorhome does not already have a charge line to the back, you can install the Roadmaster Battery Charge Line Kit for Motorhomes # RM-156-75.
Please be sure to review your vehicle specific owners manual before flat towing your 2022 Chevrolet Equinox, look under "Recreational Towing" for the manufacturers guidelines to safely flat tow this vehicle.
