Question:

What is the best tow equipment for a Hyundai 2017 Elantra SE manual transmission being towed by a 2017 Winnebago Vista Class A motorhome? Also will the odometer register miles while towing?

I checked out the online version of the owner's manual for a 2017 Hyundai Elantra and found that you will need to tow it using a tow dolly so that you don't damage the vehicle. You will want to verify this with your copy of the owner's manual.

Out of the two Roadmaster dollies that we have, parts # RM-2050-1 and # RM-2000-1, I recommend going with part # RM-2000-1. It is rated for a higher weight capacity of 4,380 lbs and has self-steering wheels that allow for tight cornering.

This tow dolly kit comes with safety chains and a 4-Way connector to activate the basic light functions on the tow dolly. If you want to utilize the included brakes (which I recommend doing) you will need a 6-Way like part # PK11604 or a 7-Way like part # PK12706 to match up to the connector on your Winnebago.

Although the tow dolly does have lights for the various light functions, some people do like to use magnetic towing lights, like part # TL21RK, to make their signals easier to be seen.

Some useful accessories for the tow dolly include the Spare Tire Carrier # RM-2000-7 and the Guardian Shield Mounting Bracket # RM-2000-8 to mount the Guardian Rock Guard # RM-4000.

I am not 100% sure where the odometer pulls the numbers from but I would assume that it is the "drive" axle. Since your Elantra is a front wheel drive, I doubt it will move the odometer since the front wheels will be off of the ground.

I have attached some review videos that you can check out as well.
