For your 2005 Chevy Silverado 2500HD we have the perfect setup that will give you both 5th wheel and gooseneck towing capability and still allow you to have a clear bed when you need it for cargo items.
If your 2500 is a 6-1/2-foot bed you can use the excellent USA-made B&W under bed gooseneck # BWGNRK1067-5W. This serves as both a gooseneck hitch and the installation kit for their 20K sliding 5th wheel Companion hitch # BWRVK3400-5W. If you have a long bed you will use the same gooseneck part # BWGNRK1067-5W but you'll use the fixed (non-sliding) version of the 20K Companion hitch, part # BWRVK3500-5W.
For an in-bed trailer wiring harness you can use part # C56000 from Curt which offers easy plug-in installation.
If you don't mind having base rails permanently installed in the truck please tell me your bed length and I can offer an alternative recommendation.
